Week 5 and for our debrief we found out that Hannah would have eliminated Gothy and with fair reason. Tia discussed her joy at finally winning a badge and Gothy said that even she was shocked at being saved.

Then it was onto a new challenge. The mini challenge saw the library being opened because reading is fundamental people. Then it was time for the queens to step up and read their fellow ladies. Choriza was up reading fellow Brit Gothy and Aussie Hannah. Gothy went for Choriza, Tia and LGD and it might have been the most success we’ve seen from Gothy in the competition. Hannah went for Gothy and Marina. Scarlet went for Hannah and Marina. Marina went for Choriza and Marina. LGD went for Gothy and Tia. Tia went for Choriza, Scarlet and Hannah. Honestly, Tia did take the win for me with her dad jokes and turns out Ru felt the same way with, Tia taking a mini-win.

Then came the Maxi challenge and this week is Rusical week taking a little inspiration from Six the Musical to bring Seven – Confessions of a Drag Queen where the queens will also have to sing live.

It’s time to get to business and verses are getting assigned.

Verse 1 is Choriza May with a fierce rap to kick things off

Verse 2 is upbeat disco and musical theatre and going to Scarlet

Verse 3 is modern pop and trashy with Marina Summers

Verse 4 is Miss Tia Kofi having her epic vocal moment in the spotlight

Part 5 is slower and rap and La Grande Dame

Verse 6 brings you all the camp oopmah comedy realness and Hannah Conda is taking the floor with that one

Part 7 80s style and closing the show and despite not wanting to take it on, it is going to Gothy Kendoll

After writing lyrics it’s time for vocal coaching with super star Self-esteem.

Choriza is up first and all seems good for our rapping queen. Scarlet had pretty good feedback just needs some clarity on her pronunciation. Marina struggled to find the right key for singing so they tried moving to a rap. Tia is good but lacks a little confidence and conviction in herself. LGD is also bringing a rap and she’s packed a lot into a little that got a little confused in clarity when it came to actually performing. Hannah was told she needs to enunciate and project a bit more. Gothy was, as per, lacking personality unfortunately but with some advice from self-esteem she could hopefully give it some come show day.

Choreo time and the queens are working their own choreo out themselves. Choriza kept it simple for everyone including herself to learn easily. Scarlet is going for something to showcase herself with the queens in the background filling space. Marina is busying things up a bit with her exacting detailed plans. Hannah is going full silly and campy and seems easy to get the head round for all the queens. Tia is like Choriza stripping it back keeping it simple for one and for all. LGD is still working her choreo section out but she seems like she’ll get there. Then Gothy has no clue what to do and wants help planning from the girls, and like a real sisterhood they truly pulled together to craft a show and I can’t wait to see the final piece.

Werk room talk showed Tia opening up to Hannah about the difficulties she had whilst on her original season and the emotional struggles she faced with her mum’s illness and the recent loss of her mum. We also chose her confess as to how she has chosen to take the shit and turn it into a positive. I just wanted to reach through the screen and give Tia such a huge hug for being open and vulnerable and also for being an incredible human being all round.

Then it was time for the ‘live’ Rusical performance of Seven – Confessions of a Drag Queen.

Choriza opened strong semi confident in her performance before we moved onto a good performance from Scarlet. Shortly after it was Marina’s solo and came in as the top performer we know her to be and gave a full performance we have come to expect.

Tia showed off her progression and newfound confidence working the stage. LGD also smashed her rap and showed that she did have everything come together in the end. Then it was time for Hannah and her comedy section and she perfected it as expected she never lets us down. Gothy did pretty well and then seemed to blank out at the end section of the choreo with no clue what was happening.

Runway looks this week are – When I Glow Up with a second chance for past looks from our queens to get a new and improved outing.

Tia went from tiny pterodactyl to fierce and dynamic dino diva and she showed that she is all glowed up honey. Scarlet revisited her Halloween ball design challenge look and she stepped it up this time to create a creepy monster look right out of the movies.

Hannah improved her belts and buckles look to become a leather diva to bow down before whilst also celebrating the Dykes on Bikes movement. Gothy progressed her Queen Elizabeth II look and she definitely looks better as Her Majesty this time around so graceful.

Ter-no She better Don’t from Marina’s glow up and oh yes she did, she looks incredible and stunning a beautiful take on an already good look. Choriza May improved her Expenny Henny look tenfold and she’s become a shining shimmering cowgirl who is dripping in golden goodness.

It’s the Morning After the Night Out for LGD and she’s gone rogue to become a huge life size condom and for LGD life size is BIG, the look was made from over 2,000 hopefully unused condoms and well, it’s a look.

It’s good news and comments for Tia and Scarlet, and Hannah had a mixed bag of good Rusical slightly critical runway. Gothy was yet again a little underwhelming of her sort of being back of the pack and a little not with everything.

Marina got great feedback for everything she did which, with Mama Ru telling her she was born to be onstage and born to do drag a very rare comment from Ru but an incredibly special one and incredibly poignant for Marina as she got quite emotional understandably.

Choriza got some criticism for showing some nerves in her performance and for her glow up, honestly, I was gutted because obviously I adore her, but I also did think she actually did well.

Our top two this week were Tia Kofi (again, yass Queen) and Marina Summers, with Gothy and Choriza in the bottom two. So it’s time for me to have my heart in my mouth for the next few minutes while things get decided. I’m hoping Choriza will be safe because she wasn’t the worst at all and Gothy really has used all of her last-chance saloons at this point.

Lip Sync time and it’s Fucking Wizardry by Self Esteem and Marina Summers takes her second win. It’s also decision time for who she’s sending home and Queen Elizabeth is going home for a second time in the form of Gothy Kendoll. It’s sad to see Gothy go but I’m so glad that Choriza stays to slay another day.
